ACHD

ACHD_masthead_smSUBJECT: ACHD INITIAL STRATEGY in A NUTSHELL

ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND

Based on the unanimous responses received, that we proceed with the planning for the development of an ACHD, the summary feedback below is synthesized in 6 areas:

• Advancing the awareness, attention, and action toward reducing or eliminating Health Disparities- an umbrella ACHD will facilitate exchange and effectiveness of all institutions, agencies and individuals working to close or eliminate Health Disparities

• Highlight Domestic and international transformative opportunities in Health Disparities

• Supporting the development of the “Next Generation of the Health Disparity Field” through education, research, policy, and public engagement.

• Serve as a forum and resource for communication to integrate and disseminate experience across the many organizations in Health Disparities efforts

• Identify “lessons learned” that can be usefully expanded, and track key measures and metrics to evaluate and assess relative progress toward Health Disparities goal achievement

• Planning a long term sustainable program and ACHD structure
